A romantic holiday on the Côte d'Azur

In our inspiration blog we let our guests have their say. They share their holiday experiences and give first-hand tips on things to do and interesting places to visit at their holiday destination.
My friend Ayoub is a real romantic. On the day the school holidays started - we both work in education - he asked me if I had any plans for the coming week. Nothing special? "Great, pack your bags," he said, "tonight we're having dinner on the Mediterranean." He had already arranged everything! Flights to Nice, a rental car at the airport and a beautiful apartment from casapilot in Issambres. And he kept his word. That same evening we had a delicious dinner in a restaurant right on the water.
Too crazy to do
For me, enjoying the sea view together on our terrace was the height of romance. But we also went on some special trips. We did things that you wouldn't even think of at home!
On horseback through the vineyards
Since I had never sat on a horse or taken part in a wine tasting before, this trip to the Domaine des Tournels vineyard in Ramatuelle was a truly unique experience. It started with a wine tasting and then we went on horseback through the vineyards. The guide told us all sorts of things about the area and its history. Very interesting. But what I liked best was the view from the horseback over the Bay of Pampelonne.

The little train of Sainte-Maxime
It seems more like something for children, a ride on a mock train, but it was one of our most beautiful experiences. In a 45 minute ride you see so many beautiful things... All the beautiful streets and beautiful old buildings of Sainte-Maxime and the view of Saint-Tropez in the distance.
Electric surfing
Very scary at first, but a great thrill was our adventure in the bay of Saint-Tropez. Have you ever heard of electric surfing? I never have, but it is really spectacular. With a little help from the surf instructors, after a while you fly over the water on a surfboard with an electric motor. These things reach speeds of up to 40 kilometers per hour, you really feel like a tsunami once you get the hang of it.
